The performance "The Wound" is a sincere story about death and memory, intimacy and sexuality, love and acceptance. Viewers will encounter the familiar realities of post-Soviet Russia, with the diaries and personal artefacts of the novel's author, one of Russia's most important feminist writers, Oksana Vasyakina.
According to the plot of the novel "The Wound", the main character takes her mother's ashes from the Volgograd region to Siberia to bury them close to the homeland. She recalls her own childhood and comprehends the inevitability of the departure of the dearest people, as well as the formation of herself as a a poet and a lesbian.
Despite a personal story about experiencing a deep existential trauma, in it, this particular story, as if in a mirror, the whole Russian life is reflected.
